The opioid crisis continues to impact families and communities across New York City, and local leaders are inviting Bronx residents to come together to learn about available resources, increase awareness, and discuss solutions.
Bronx Community Board 5 and Bronx Community Board 7 will host a Town Hall on the Opioid Crisis on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Bronx Library Center, located at 310 East Kingsbridge Road in the Bronx.
The event is designed to provide residents with information about the opioid epidemic, available support services, prevention strategies, and resources for individuals and families affected by substance abuse. Community members will also have the opportunity to learn about local programs and connect with organizations working to address the crisis.
The opioid epidemic has affected communities throughout the country, including neighborhoods across the Bronx. Public health officials, community organizations, and government agencies continue to work together to reduce overdose deaths, expand treatment options, and increase access to education and support services.
Organizers hope the town hall will encourage open conversations about addiction while helping residents better understand the challenges facing individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Community engagement remains a key part of addressing the crisis and ensuring that those in need know where to seek help.
The event is open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and learn more about the resources available in their community.
