Donald Trump’s Most Thankless and Dangerous Job

Voters will have to grow up, whether they like it or not. The US President has begun raising awareness among voters about current events.

For the first time in modern US history, Donald Trump has begun to raise American voters’ awareness* of world events. This is the historic mission of the 47th US President. It is his advantage over other politicians. And it is his greatest threat and challenge! Donald Trump has begun to raise voter awareness because he needs to make dramatic changes in US policy. To understand the new reality, voters need to know more! But this is not easy for the president and the people.

Knowledge increases sorrows

In Latin, the title of this section of the article reads “Qui auget scientiam, auget et dolorem.” The first written mention of this expression is in the Bible (Ecclesiastes 1:18).(1) The author of this saying is King Solomon. This was almost 3,000 years ago.(2) Little has changed since then. Trump’s revelations, even when made in the form of hints or slips of the tongue, create more negative emotions than positive ones. Isn’t that right?

Were the public and the media delighted by Trump’s remark that “I doubt NATO would be there for the US if we really needed them”?(3) No! This statement was considered scandalous. Of course. Such a thing can’t be liked! Because it’s not true! But is this statement truly not true? Or is this statement only inconsistent with public perception of the world? This raises an interesting point. For each of us, our perceptions of the world are the truth. But that doesn’t mean it’s really so.

Donald Trump’s statement about NATO turned out to be correct. Several months after the US President said, “I doubt NATO would be there for the US if we really needed them,” NATO indeed did not provide significant support to the US during Operation Epic Fury. Thus, the accuracy of Donald Trump’s statement has been confirmed by historical fact. This means that a significant portion of society and the media were mistaken when they negatively assessed the US President’s statement. Trump turned out to be right. He raised our awareness of the world around us, but did so at a high cost. He irritated many of us.

Trump’s revelations are inevitable

Why did Trump take the risky path of a politician who irritates potential voters? Because Trump is raising voter awareness to improve his influence. This is not the usual approach. Before Donald Trump, politicians moved in the opposite direction. The typical politician lowers voter awareness to improve his influence. Less awareness, but more comfort for voters and more power for the politician. That’s the motto of most politicians, but not Donald Trump.

The 47th US president has taken a different path because the era of low voter awareness is ending. Trump is preempting events. He is the first in the world to introduce a policy based on high voter awareness. This is because technological advances are reducing the ability of politicians to manipulate voters. The internet, social media, and AI are increasing voter awareness. Now everyone is an eyewitness to events and can form their own opinion. Traditional political cues on how to correctly interpret current events are becoming unnecessary. Therefore, following the old political culture is foolish. Trump is creating a new political culture—a culture of high voter awareness (engagement). This is Donald Trump’s historic mission.

The US president needs well-informed voters to achieve a technological breakthrough in the American economy. This technological breakthrough is as inevitable as the emergence of a new political culture. The two phenomena are harmoniously interconnected. But these phenomena will profoundly change the world. Trump is the harbinger of these changes.

What’s the bottom line?

Donald Trump’s voters will be more engaged (informed) about events than voters of other politicians. This will create an interesting situation where Trump’s political opponents will be unable to effectively influence the situation using the media and other traditional tools for manipulating voter opinion.

Trump’s political opponents will only be able to compete with him by creating the same or greater voter engagement than he did! But the possibilities for such political competition are very limited, if possible at all. After all, the more informed voters are, the less likely they are to be manipulated. Furthermore, all of Donald Trump’s political opponents haven’t even begun to raise awareness among their own voters. The US political elite sleeps while Trump marches forward with giant strides.

By raising awareness among his voters, Donald Trump increases his advantage over other politicians. But at the same time, Donald Trump is taking a significant risk. He’s reducing his own ability to influence voters. And that’s a major threat to Donald Trump.

Donald Trump is walking a tightrope over an abyss. Any deviation from the golden mean in raising voter awareness could be disastrous for the US president. Too little voter awareness is just as dangerous as too much. Therefore, Trump is not always candid and in some cases conceals information from voters, acting like a typical politician.

In particular, the US President is disingenuous when he talks about the true goals of Operation Epic Fury.(4) It’s clear that the goal of this military operation is to gain US control over global oil prices. By regulating the cost and even volume of oil supplies, Donald Trump will be able to influence the EU economy.(5) Therefore, NATO, which is almost entirely composed of European countries, did not support the US in this military operation. Trump only told half the truth: that NATO will not help the US. But the US President didn’t explain why NATO would do this!

But even this partial increase in voter awareness creates many problems for Trump.  And these problems are located outside the boundaries of political competition. Because Donald John Trump is an existential threat to the entire old political system.  And here’s why.

Revealing information about UFOs(6) or the assassination of John F. Kennedy(7) are innocent amusements. Far more frightening are Trump’s political revelations about current events, as in the case of Ukraine.(8) This is a real blow to political strategists, journalists, and other professionals who create the necessary narrative of the world for politicians targeting low-informed voters. All these people see a threat to themselves in Trump’s initiatives to increase voter awareness. Their activities are being called into question. They risk losing their jobs and becoming irrelevant to society. After all, a well-informed society has very different demands on journalists and other media professionals.

Therefore, there is a sense of hostility between Trump and most media representatives. The president is accelerating the decline of the media’s influence on society. This cannot please the media industry.

The same unpleasant attitude toward Trump is observed among most politicians. They perceive the US president as an alien species and openly hate him. The reasons are the same as with the media. Trump is destroying the worlds created by the older generation of politicians. He is a threat to the entire political elite of the world, with the exception of a few strong leaders.

In the current situation, a mixed assessment of Donald Trump seems natural. The US leader is making too many changes to be understood by everyone. The Big Apple Gazette surveyed political scientists and politicians about the 47th US President’s media activity. They were all asked the same question.

“In your opinion, has Donald Trump increased, decreased, or left the same American voters’ awareness of events in the US and around the world? (Meaning, is Trump more honest, less honest, or at the same level of honesty with voters as previous presidents?)”

“Trump has been more accessible and more unscripted than any President in modern history.  He has preferred reporters and outlets, but he is not telepromptor dependendent or closed off with scripted questions. It is not only in formal news conferences, but informal access.  He can be dismissive or belligerent when asked something he thinks is a “gotcha” question, but he’s answered more questions from more outlets in one year than Biden did in his entire Presidency.  Americans are given a much more honest and candid perspective from Trump’s view of the world than any of the last five Presidents” said founder and president of TABcommunications, inc. Tab Berg.

“Trump is the most deceitful president in recent history. His word seems to change not just day to day but hour to hour. With this type of thinking, if you are perceived as an enemy, then he has no problem misleading you. This goes on the local, state, national, or international level”  – said Senator James Sanders Jr.

But the main problem is society’s reaction to Donald Trump’s revelations. Many of us reject increased awareness of events because it shrinks our comfort zone. In many cases, such as Ukraine,(9) society is unwilling to accept the bitter truth about the nature of events. Worse yet, many of us haven’t even realized that this is being done for our own good. All of the above allows us to call Donald Trump’s work on raising voter awareness the most thankless and dangerous job of a US president.

*Here and further, greater awareness also implies greater involvement of voters in events.
